The Dua Allahumma A’inni Ala Zikrika Wa Shukrika Wa Husni Ibadatika was taught by our Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) to recite after every Salah. Consider reading the following Sahih Hadith.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took hold of my hand and said, “O Mu’adh! By Allah I love you, so I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer: “Allahumma a’inni ala dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni ‘ibadatika”
– Abu Dawud and An- Nasa’i [Riyad as-Salihin 384]
Translation Of This Dua in English
The English translation of Allahumma A’inni Ala Zikrika Wa Shukrika Wa Husni Ibadatika is:
O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner.
By making this Dua, we ask Allah to help us and assist us in remembering Him to be grateful and thankful for everything. Allah (SWT) has bestowed upon us innumerable blessings with good health, wealth, children, parents, fame, a home where we can live peacefully, and a lot more. Shouldn’t we show gratitude to Allah (SWT) and always be thankful for the blessings we have in our lives?
If you tried to number Allah’s blessings, you could never count them. [Surat Al-Maa’idah, 16:18]
Being thankful to Allah protects your existing blessings and is the means to please Allah (SWT). If you want the blessings to stay with you, always remember Allah by thanking Him and being grateful.
Allah (SWT) loves people who are always thankful to Him. If you are grateful to Allah (SWT), then He will increase you in blessings.
The mission of Shaitaan is to make human beings ungrateful towards Allah (SWT). But the Dua Allahumma A’inni Ala Zikrika Wa Shukrika Wa Husni Ibadatika will help us stay motivated and from being distracted by Shaitaan’s evil whispers.
