I’ve seen a lot of youngsters who say “we still have so much time to pray, we will do Ibadah when the time comes”.

Well, this is the worst thinking ever! No one knows when death will knock on our door. We’ve seen unexpected deaths due to accidents and during the entire Covid-19 crisis. No one expected that to happen. This is why it’s highly recommended to make Dua for the forgiveness of sins every single day.

It’s a fact that Iblees (Shaitaan) will always try his best to divert you and take you on the wrong path. He will involve you in bad things such as uttering wrong words, watching bad things, encouraging you in delaying Ibadat (prayers), involving in Zina, disrespecting people, and a lot more bad activities.

It’s advisable to always seek Allah’s protection from the whispers of Shaitan.

If you’ve ever been involved in a major sin, then make a sincere Dua for forgiveness from Allah after every prayer. If possible, wake up at night, perform Salatul Tahajjud, and make Dua.

As many of us heard a saying: The dua made at Tahajjud is like an arrow that does not miss its target – Imam Ash-Shafi’i (R.A)

Dua For Forgiveness Of Zina

This is one of the worst sins which comes under Al-Kabirah. There’s a 100% possibility that Shaitan tempts a Muslim to involve in such sin. However, if a Muslim gets to know the punishment for Zina, he/she would never dare to get into it. If a person likes someone, then it’s highly recommended to talk to their parents and get married as soon as possible, instead of involving in Zina.

If Zina has been done in the past, then the Muslim needs to seek forgiveness wholeheartedly as soon as possible. A Muslim needs to make a sincere Dua for the forgiveness of Zina and promise that it won’t let that happen again in the future. Indeed Allah (SWT) is the Most Merciful and Generous, if he/she does Taubah/repent sincerely then surely the sin will be forgiven. Insha’Allah.

Well, hurting someone physically or orally is definitely a sin. If a Muslim hurts someone knowingly or unknowingly, he/she needs to be sorry. Being sorry is one of the best things to do! If you’ve hurt someone then be sorry before it’s too late for you to ask forgiveness from that person! If you want Allah (SWT) to forgive you, then you must be forgiven by that person at first. Do not let your ego dominate you.

Now, what should you do if you already asked for forgiveness but the person is not ready to forgive you?

Well, you shall ask again and again until the person is convinced. If still you’re not forgiven by that person then seek forgiveness from Allah (SWT). Make Dua in Tahajjud, do good deeds, give Sadaqah frequently, do whatever good you can to be on a safer side on the day of Judgement.

Few More Tips Of Seeking Forgiveness From Allah

What else I can do to seek forgiveness from Allah?

Give charity (Sadaqah) …

As we can see in the Hadith At-Tirmidhi 614 The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire

Do you know the benefits of giving to Charity?

  1. Expiates sins
  2. Eases hardship
  3. You can earn rewards even after your death through Sadaqah Jariyah
  4. Blessings in wealth and health
  5. Higher chance of getting Dua accepted
  6. And much more…

You get all these benefits that can benefit you in this world, and hereafter. Isn’t it amazing?! There’s no minimum or maximum amount of money to be given to charity. Sadaqah is an act of kindness. A Muslim can give any amount that he/she can afford to give.

Apart from money, using kind words is a form of charity as well. Making someone happy, saying salaam, smiling with your parents, visiting the sick, forgiving someone, spreading knowledge, giving directions to someone on the road, and removing harmful things from the road also comes under Sadaqah (charity).

May Allah (SWT) forgive all our sins and grant us Jannah, Aameen.
