Parents are a true blessing to mankind! Their sacrifices, and the hard times they had gone through to raise their children can never ever be re-paid. The only way we can repay them is to respect them, support them, take care of their health, make a very good Dua for parents, and stay with them as long as they are alive. For an aged person, it’s extremely hard to get involved in day-to-day tasks. So this shall be our duty to take care of them, as they used to take care of us in our childhood.

Dua For Deceased (Dead) Parents
Life is hard without parents! A deceased parent will be much more in need of their child, compared to when they were alive! Our responsibility is to make Dua and ask Allah (SWT) for their forgiveness. Below is the Maghfirat Dua for parents who have passed away. May Allah (SWT) enlighten their grave and bless them with the highest place in Jannah. Apart from making the Dua, one of the best ways to help your deceased parent is to give charity to the needy on their behalf, sacrifice an animal on their behalf, plant a tree on their behalf, contribute to building a mosque on their behalf, dig a well on behalf on the dead parent. Make Dua for your parents from the bottom of your heart, cry in Sujud (prostration), and contribute to Sadaqah Jariya. Ask Allah (SWT) to shower mercy on your parents in the grave and hereafter.

The above verse is from Surah Ibrahim, the best Dua for parents who passed away. Making Dua for parents and being kind to them has huge rewards in Islam. Moreover, there’s a very popular Hadith in this regard.
It was narrated from Mu’awiyah bin Jahimah As-Sulami, that Jahimah came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said:
“O Messenger of Allah! I want to go out and fight (in Jihad) and I have come to ask your advice.” He said: “Do you have a mother?” He said: “Yes.” He said: “Then stay with her, for Paradise is beneath her feet.” – [Sunan an-Nasa’i 3104]
