Astaghfirullah Rabbi Min Kulli Zambiyon Wa Atubu Ilaih is a small yet powerful Dua that opens the door of sustenance and gateway of relief and happiness.

Astagfirullah (also known as Istighfar) simply means I seek forgiveness of sins from Allah. Whenever a person is in distress, feels disturbed when financial problems surround him, when life feels so incomplete, then reciting Istighfar 100 times a day can solve all the worldly problems.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying.” By Allah! I ask for forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day.” – [Sahih al-Bukhari 6307]

In another Hadith of Sunan Ibn Majah 3815, the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) used to seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him 100 times each day.

Astaghfirullah rabbi min kulli zambiyon wa atoobu ilaiyh

English translation:

I ask forgiveness of my sins from Allah who is my Lord and I turn towards Him.

Astaghfirullah Benefits From Qur’an & Hadith

The benefits of reciting Istighfar can be seen in the Qur’anic verse mentioned below.

Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers. And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. – [Surah Nuh 71:10-12]

Ibn ‘Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide sustenance for him from where he expects not. – [Abu Dawud]
